We all know that change is inevitable, the world is constantly changing around us. While the idea of change is generally accepted as the norm, our current circumstances seem very far from the norm. With the current Covid-19 pandemic, our lives seem to have changed overnight with very little warning. Life has taken a completely different turn, and most people find themselves trying to figure out where to go from here and what to do with themselves.

If ever there was a time to make health and well-being your top priority, that time is definitely now. While implementing strict lock down measures has been done for the greater good of the population, the negative effects on individuals are very real too. Other than the obvious boredom factor, self-quarantine makes staying healthy and physically active a bit of a challenge, especially with all the restrictions that are now in place.

Accepting defeat should not even cross your mind! If you had goals that you were working very hard to achieve before everything happened, nothing has to change except for how you are going to keep working towards these goals. Most of us have more time on our hands now than we ever had before, so why not make the most of it? Beat the boredom by making your health and fitness goals your main focus. This might be easier to do than you realise.

Focus on your physical and mental well-being

Being granted an exercise session in the mornings during Level 4 of lock down has definitely helped, but there are many more hours in the day that you can use to stay active too. Everything doesn’t have to depend on a three-hour exercise window, there is still a lot you can do during the day in the comfort of your own home. The internet is full of exercise videos and exercise routines that you can follow that don’t require equipment or large spaces. You might just be surprised by what you can do!

Other than exercise being a requirement for a healthy body, staying active assists with mental well-being too. The stress and uncertainty of this pandemic and what it has brought with it can take a toll on mental well-being, so having a goal to keep you motivated while staying physically active (to keep you feeling good) can do a lot for your overall well-being. Your goals might just help you through this uncertain time, so make the best out of this bad situation by beating the boredom the healthy way!
